At its annual gala, the NCSC (Nordic Council of Shopping Centers) awarded the Sello Shopping Centre the prize for the best shopping centre in Finland in 2019.

In its statement, the jury wrote: “This year’s winner is both traditional and future-oriented. This is a classically successful real estate development project that has consistently produced excellent results on all indicators throughout its existence, proving to be one of the market leaders in Finland. During its lifecycle, Sello has established itself as part of the everyday life and special occasions of its clientele and community in its area of influence, becoming a true meeting place and urban centre. The shopping centre also systematically develops its offering in response to the changing market and the needs and expectations of its customers.”

The jury highlighted Sello’s position as a bold leader in the real estate industry in the area of responsible development and energy efficiency. The jury stated that Sello is a pioneer and a shining example also at the international level.

We are very pleased that our long-term commitment to the development of the shopping centre has been duly recognised. Long-term work to develop the Sello property is made possible by its owners, the Finnish pension insurance companies Keva, Ilmarinen and Elo,” says Matti Karlsson, the Managing Director of the Sello Shopping Centre.

We’d also like to extend our gratitude to our customers and the staff at our stores for this honour. Our strong community spirit takes us forward in our function as an urban centre that plays an important role both in the surrounding area and Espoo in general. So, we want to thank all our customers and the entire staff at the centre,” Karlsson says.

This acknowledgement means that the Sello Shopping Centre, which is managed by Realidea, will represent Finland next spring in the NCSC Nordic Best Shopping Center competition.
