It is that time of the year again when we stop and take a moment to sum up Realidea’s year and reflect on the past in the form of our traditional Season’s greeting.
One year ago, we had our budgets drawn up and goals set and our plans ready for the new year. Many of us had already planned holidays and work trips. Hardly anyone could have imagined that we would soon be in the midst of an unprecedented global crisis and a new normal.
The year 2020, which has been marked by the coronavirus pandemic, was Realidea’s 3rd year of operations. Although it has been exceptional and challenging in many ways, the year has taught us many lessons and made our company’s original philosophy even stronger. We have worked hard together in an open, entrepreneurial and determined way. We have achieved a lot that we are very proud and grateful for.
We have had our work cut out for us all year, and we have also recruited more expertise to the company. In the second half of the year, we took on the management of the Ristikko and Plaza shopping centres in Helsinki and Salo. Sello in Espoo reinforced its leading position also internationally: Sello is now the first shopping centre in all of Europe to have achieved the new environmental classification 4.1 LEED EB PLATINUM!
There are now 25 of us at Realidea, there are 5 partners in the company and we have 5 shopping centres under our management. This year, we have leased a total of roughly 25,000 square metres of commercial premises to a large number of clients across Finland, added more than 100 coronavirus-related annexes to existing leases with the assistance of property owners in Espoo’s Sello alone, and have received more than 50 new consultation assignments and, through them, contributed to numerous property development projects throughout the country.
Now we are looking forward to the holidays coming up – it is finally time to sit back, relax and recharge our batteries. We would like to warmly thank our customers and cooperation partners for this year and wish everyone a joy-filled festive season, and health, strength and success in 2021!
